The Power of Resistance

Hi, Beautiful!

Have you ever sat and reflected on what you are currently facing?  Have you heard the whisper from God about your assignment and felt like He can’t possibly be calling you to that?  Have you ever felt that you can’t possibly bear this too?

When there is an assignment on our lives, God will use the trials to direct us to our calling and purpose.  The pain that we experience is used to help someone who will cross our paths in the future.  But, it’s when we try to run from that calling that our fear tells us that we can’t possibly do it.  But Beautiful, when there is an assignment, nothing else will work until we are walking in that calling.  That’s the power of resistance!

The power of resistance comes to show us that total surrender is required.  And no I’m not talking about surrendering in that we continue to allow others to hurt us but surrendering to God and the reason why we were created.  You can’t try and control the situation as nothing but total reliance on Him is required.  I know it doesn’t feel good when we are going through but it’s His plan.  It’s His power within us that supersedes all the pain and hurt that we experience.  It’s His plan that will keep us from running!  It’s His plan that will show us when WE need to change.

Perhaps, our character is off!  Perhaps, we have fear!  Perhaps, we aren’t walking in love!  Whatever it is, God will show us as we can’t run from our purpose.  We can’t fight the resistance that the calling has on our lives.

So Beautiful, stop fighting the voices that say you are not enough or will never measure up!  Stop fighting that gut instinct you have and accept that you are called for a greater purpose!  Stop fighting the resistance and accept that you have the strength to keep moving!  You were not designed to give up!

keep going

But, what does God say?

Hi, Beautiful!

Happy Friday!  It’s Freedom Friday and you made it through another week despite what you thought.  God is so awesome in that he gives us the strength needed moment by moment.

You’ve had doubts!  You’ve questioned your abilities!  You questioned your faith!  Your mind said you are not enough!  (Maybe that was just mine) Your heart said stop loving!  You were run by fear!  Your mind said so many things!  But, did you ever stop and say….

what does god sayBeautiful, God says:

  • You are equipped Eph. 2:10
  • You are worthy Psalm 139:13-14
  • You are enough 2 Cor 12:9-10
  • You are accepted Heb 12:6
  • You are never alone Deu 31:6, Heb 13:5
  • You can do all things Phip 4:13
  • You are forgiven Rom 8:1
  • He will direct your steps Prov 3:5-6
  • He will give you rest Matt 11:28-30

During those moments of doubting who you are and what you are going through, remember what God says!  Trust me, He made no mistake when He created and this too shall pass!  Keep standing strong, Beautiful!  Fly, Beautiful Butterfly, Fly!

Toot your own horn!

Hey Beautiful! What do you offer to offer? What gift do you have that the world needs?

Time and time again, the ones close to us know what we do and are capable of. But, we are sitting on the sidelines thinking that they will tell the world. Isn’t that what referrals are all about, right?

Well, sometimes yes and sometimes no. Sometimes they do but sometimes they also keep us complacent in staying at the level we are at. Because of our fear, we won’t tell the world what we have to offer. We think that our talent will fall into the right hand and we will get our big break.

Well Beautiful, that may happen but how long are we willing to wait? We can’t pray to God for growth and expansion if we are not willing to also do our part. I’m not saying take control and do it yourself but I’m saying promote what you do. Tell the world what God has gifted within you! Toot your own horn!

How else will we know what you do? Share what you do and you never know who may have been looking for what you can provide. Toot, toot!

Committed to the trial

Last year, I decided that I would pass on the vision board and focus on one word. As I prepared for 2019, I asked God for my word. I received “surrender” and “expect the unexpected”. Never would have I imagined that those words would be my journey to find out if I was really committed to God which has me asking…

What God has revealed to me is am I willing to stand no matter what? Am I willing to keep fighting when all things are breaking loose? Am I willing to keep pushing my purpose of reminding women of their beautiful when I question my own “beautiful”? Am I willing to commit to Him and His will for my life when I’m going through the trial?

And my answer is YES! Don’t get me wrong, it may be a hesitant yes because I have wondered why me. But then I’m reminded of the webinar that I presented that reminded my guests why not me.

You see, when God created us, He gave us a purpose and we will not be content doing anything else until we fulfill the assignment. Therefore, be willing to stand in the trial by:

  • Spending a moment examining any areas of your life where you’ve experienced a persistent struggle. Ask yourself have I leaned on God for the strength to endure
  • Asking yourself are you willing to embrace the need for change
  • Ask yourself how can you invite more ways to be open to the surrender
  • Ask yourself what lies beneath any unwillingness to stand
  • Acknowledging that things may not always work out as planned and letting that go

Beautiful, don’t you see.  It’s the very thing that you consistently struggle with that will be the thing that God uses to bless others.  We just have to lean into him for the strength to be committed to the end.  So, my question to you is are you committed to the trial?

In the Storm

Everyone goes through trials and challenges.  Everyone feels sadness and pain.  Everyone often questions the reasons behind everything that we experience. Unfortunately, it’s a part of life that we have to go through in order to experience something greater.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been experiencing a sense of sadness and I couldn’t figure out why.  I tried to shift my mindset to reflect on how God has been and is still with me but I still couldn’t shake this feeling.  It was just a feeling that I couldn’t explain or understand for that matter.

If you know me, you know that I love clouds so imagine every time that I stepped out and looked up, I see clouds that look like a storm.  And what do I hear – a storm is coming!  Each and every time, I saw and heard this.  So, here I am feeling this sense of sadness and keep hearing the storm is coming and I have no idea what to do except lean in and trust God.  I couldn’t talk to anyone about it because every time I tried, I couldn’t find the words to explain it.  Every time I tried to write, I couldn’t find the words to write.  I just had to pray and wait. Wait for his explanation of what I was experiencing!

stormIn the midst of me waiting, I realized that God was speaking to me all along.  I was just so focused on my feelings that I couldn’t hear what he was telling me.  My storm was my God’s way of telling me to prepare but prepare for what……

Prepare to:

  • Understand that there is purpose to my broken pieces.  My broken pieces have been created into something strong, beautiful and purposeful.
  • Understand that I will face giants but those giants of fear, doubt and procrastination will not stop me
  • Understand that God carries me during my dark moments.  As such, I have to learn to give myself grace by remembering all the ways that God has come through.
  • Be grateful at all times
  • Understand that my failures lead to my growth and my opportunity to trust God

So in the midst of MY storm, I realized that I have to:

  • Find peace – John 14:27, Psalm 16:11, John 16:13, 1 Col 3:15
  • Get quiet and be still by taking the time to reflect and just be in the moment – Isaiah 30:15
  • Trust Him no matter what – Psalm 33:4
  • Pray at all times and give thanks – 1 Thes 5:16-18
  • Let go of trying to control and just be – Rom 11:36, Isaiah 30:15
  • Stop listening to the negative talk and transform my thoughts – 2 Cor 10:4-5, Col 3:2

In the midst of my storm, God blessed me with my rainbow!  My lesson in the storm was to never lose sight of Him and continue to trust in Him.  So you see, no storm will ever break you.  They just teach you where your reliance of strength needs to come from.
