Toot your own horn!

Hey Beautiful! What do you offer to offer? What gift do you have that the world needs?

Time and time again, the ones close to us know what we do and are capable of. But, we are sitting on the sidelines thinking that they will tell the world. Isn’t that what referrals are all about, right?

Well, sometimes yes and sometimes no. Sometimes they do but sometimes they also keep us complacent in staying at the level we are at. Because of our fear, we won’t tell the world what we have to offer. We think that our talent will fall into the right hand and we will get our big break.

Well Beautiful, that may happen but how long are we willing to wait? We can’t pray to God for growth and expansion if we are not willing to also do our part. I’m not saying take control and do it yourself but I’m saying promote what you do. Tell the world what God has gifted within you! Toot your own horn!

How else will we know what you do? Share what you do and you never know who may have been looking for what you can provide. Toot, toot!

Self-reflection – the internal work!

The world is chaotic and it’s hard to find time to quiet the mind and just breath for that matter but does self-reflection work? I’ve asked some experts for their opinion on whether they felt self-reflection is important and in what ways do they self-reflect. And here are their thoughts:

We are often so busy that we don’t take time to self-reflect. I believe self-reflection is so powerful because it allows you to celebrate your wins and learn from your mistakes. When you do that, you can boldly go where God is leading you. Vanessa Collins, Digital Mastery For Authors, www.DigitalMasteryForAuthors.com

Self reflection is important since it gives you the opportunity to stop and see your progress. It helps you to evaluate where you are in comparison to where you would like to be. When you self reflect, it helps you to see the little things that you might be overlooking and allow you to celebrate the wins and learn from the experiences. For me, self reflection is essential for taking self inventory of my life. I look at the good, so I can continue on that road. I look at the bad to remind me of the lessons they taught. I look at the ugly of my life as a measurement of how far I’ve come from what I used to be. Then there’s the “what in the &%$# was that” portion of my life; that section lets me know that nothing is permanent and that no matter where I am in my life, I must treat it like the treasure it is!!! Self reflection is important because we should be accountable for ourselves. With that accountability we need to take time out to see what’s up with us. Check on the good and bad and make changes as necessary. This way we can stay on top of being our best selves and showing up that way in the world. No matter the course taken for self-reflection, it is so important to celebrate the wins and losses.  It helps you quiet the world around you to determine what adjustments need to be made in your life. No the journey is not easy but evaluating your steps is necessary to keep moving! In what ways, do you self-reflect?
